Experience beautiful Knysna from a different perspective with this half day excursion to the Featherbed Nature Reserve. Home to magnificently diverse plant species, most notably Fynbos, the reserve offers visitors an opportunity to view the Knysna Heads up close and from land, while also visually indulging in and learning more about some of the loveliest plant life on earth. The wildfires which swept through Knysna in 2017 resulted in a resurgence of the local flora, and many species can now be seen on the reserve which have not been spotted in a generation.
Your tour starts with a ferry trip on the Knysna Lagoon to the Western Head. You’ll then embark on a 4×4 drive up the headland onto the reserve, stopping at various scenic viewpoints along the way. Your specialist guide will be sure to share their expertise of the local flora and fauna during the drive. You may take an optional 2.2km walk through coastal forest into ancient sea caves. All guests will enjoy a fabulous outdoor buffet lunch under a canopy of milkwood trees before catching the ferry back to the mainland.
