Inspired Travelers,

As February unfolds, we’re thrilled to introduce an enticing array of new adventures at Experiences by Distincte. Among our diverse offerings, one journey stands out—the captivating California Pacific Coast Highway Road Trip. This recent escapade was sparked by an invitation from our esteemed colleague, Karlyn Hawke of Pebble Beach Resorts, who invited us to the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. Not only did we accept, but we decided to craft an unforgettable PCH road trip around this exciting event. Over four unforgettable days (Thursday to Monday), we embarked on a journey that prioritized the breathtaking drive south and west of San Francisco. While we couldn’t explore San Francisco fully, we did make time for a must-drive over the iconic Golden Gate Bridge on our final night before departing. Here’s a glimpse of our adventure: Day One – Ritz Carlton Half Moon Bay: We arrived in San Francisco, collected our rental convertible, and headed north to Pacifica, eager to catch our first glimpse of the Pacific Ocean. A quick stop at Maverick’s Beach to witness the awe-inspiring waves, followed by lunch and dinner at the luxurious Ritz Carlton Half Moon Bay, set the tone for an unforgettable trip Day Two – PCH Road Trip: After a leisurely breakfast, we embarked on a jaw-dropping journey south along the Pacific Coast Highway. The dramatic coastline, especially after a recent storm, left us in awe. Highlights included the 17 Mile Drive in Pacific Grove, a visit to the iconic Lone Cypress Tree, and a late lunch at Clint Eastwood’s Mission Ranch Restaurant. We ended the day with abreathtaking sunset at Carmel-by-the-Sea’s pristine beach. Day Three – The Town of Monterey: While our day was mainly devoted to the AT&T Pebble Beach golf experience, we managed to explore Cannery Row and enjoy brunch in charming Monterey. The bay’s beauty, nestled by the Pacific Ocean, left a lasting impression. An evening dinner at 7th & Delores Steakhouse with our local industry friends, David Cater from Monterey CVB and Karlyn Hawk of Pebble Beach, was the perfect conclusion. Monetary is renowned for its Pinot Noir which was the perfect complement to an amazing meal!  Day Four – Big Sur: Our journey concluded with an exhilarating drive down the iconic Big Sur. For driving enthusiasts, this winding coastal route offers an unforgettable experience. The road south from Carmel is a thrilling adventure, with towering hills on one side and steep cliffs on the other. A visit to Big Sur National Park provided an opportunity to marvel at ancient redwood trees, some over a thousand years old. While our adventure merely scratched the surface of this captivating California region, it’s a perfect couples’ road trip that caters to diverse interests—wine enthusiasts, foodies, and golfers alike. This slice of America holds a special place in my heart, and I can’t wait to inspire your next journey. We look forward to sharing the magic of travel with you! Warm regards, Sean Winton Founder & President, Experiences by Distincte
