Mount Juliet Golf Club

Mount Juliet was a family home until 1989 and remains one of Ireland’s finest country houses, as well as being Co. Kilkenny’s most acclaimed country Estate. We are proud to maintain traditions and standards that have endured from the glory days of the ‘Big House’ – just as we are proud of the hospitality that has brought us international renown. A stay at Mount Juliet Estate is a truly unique experience. It’s a place to come and be who you want to be, whether that involves fishing, riding, golfing, archery, falconry or the absolute indulgence of our treatment suites.

Designed by Jack Nicklaus, Mount Juliet Estate golf course first opened in 1991 with a friendly match between Jack Nicklaus and Christy O’Connor Snr. Since then, the course has established itself as a premier venue for all levels of golfer. This was highlighted when Mount Juliet played host to golfing legends Tiger Woods, Ernie Els, Sergio Garcia and Pádraig Harrington for the WGC American Express Golf Championship in September 2002 – and again in 2004. Any game on Mount Juliet’s Jack Nicklaus signature designed golf course is memorable but there are some holes that you could never forget. The stunning 3rd hole, for example, a par 3 taken from an elevated tee towards a green that’s guarded by a natural stream and lake … both of which have claimed many balls in their illustrious history. The 10th hole is a par 5 with a group of trees in the center of the fairway, ready to test a golfer’s strategy. The final hole is the clincher. A long, par 4, with water all down the left side and a very narrow approach to the green.

The 7,300 yard, par 72 layout combines many features – rolling fairways, water hazards, contoured greens – all of which blend superbly into the spectacular landscapes surrounding this unique estate.

Course Stats: 18 holes, 7300 yards, par: 72
