GOLF INSPIRED, a Divison of Distincte is proud to partner with SQAIRZ as its official “Links Golf Shoe” for 2024 Ayrshire Links Invitational to be hosted on Scotland’s picturesque Ayrshire coast at the incomparable luxorious Trump Turnberry Resort (VIDEO) starting on August 18th, 2024

Our ethos at Golf Inspired is about the celebration of the game; good living shared by like-minded individuals seeking memorable experiences. Through a series of signature events, our team specializes in creating relaxed and fun-filled environments in some of the world’s most iconic golf destinations. Ayrshire is one of those iconic destinations not to mention, it happens to be the where our company founder and event host, Sean Winton grew up.

“Growing up in Maidens, the neighboring village of Turnberry, I never imagined my move to the States would result in me getting into the travel industry, bringing my clients back to a place where I used to grow up.  I started in 1996 and it’s always been my dream to host an event such as this at my childhood home – Turnberry a special part of the world and I look forward to showing the very best of my home!”

Our Ayrshire Links Invitational is open to golfers (40) and non-golfers seeking the very best in life experiences…

For our golfers, we start you off with Turnberry’s King Robert the Bruce.  Royal Troon (host to next summers 152nd OPEN Championship) Western Gailes will follow before finishing off with arguably one of the best links golf courses in the world – the Ailsa Course at Turnberry.

For our non-golfers we will offer an array of options for those seeking to explore off-resort.  Some of the local highlights is a 17th century castle – Culzean Castle and the home of Robert Burns, Scotland’s national bard.  On property, Turnberry has a wonderful spa, horse back riding on the beach just to name a few highlights. There is literally something for everyone to do!

Throughout the week, we will pair the very best of what Ayrshire has to offer in scenery, culture and most important of all, it’s culinary delights!

We are very excited to have you join us next summer and let us know if there is anything that we can do to make this trip extra special.

Before You Travel

What to Pack for GOLF:

  • A quality rain suit, pants and jacket is a MUST! Zero Restriction and FootJoy are quality brands. If you do not own such apparel, it is expensive and note, you get what you pay for. So purchase wisely as you’ll be thankful you have it if you get a good lashing!
  • Rain gloves – a must when playing in the rain. They come in pairs and for good reason. A wet hand on a wet grip will only result in tears as your ball, and maybe your club too, will undoubtedly end up in the fescue.
  • A good ski hat – yes, not what you typically think of for golf but because most courses are on the ocean, the water temps are still only in the upper 50’s to 60 degrees. Combine these factors with some wind blowing onshore and then throw in some rain and it is a recipe for being miserable. A nice warm hat that can cover your ears could be your best friend.
  • A proper golf umbrella – a must as normal summer weather means intermittent showers that come and go throughout a 4 hour round. You can generally see what is coming so instead of changing in and out of rain gear, you can use a good sturdy wind-resistant umbrella to shelter you until the showers pass.

Now, what about sunshine? Yes, they do have it in Scotland and when it comes out especially in the late spring and summer months, it can be quite warm to hot. Therefore, a few pairs of golf shorts are in order. Golfers have been known to wear shorts under their rain pants simply because the extremes from shower to sunshine can be very dramatic – so this is sometimes the best approach.

All in all, these are the best tips to best prepare you for what we hope is a memorable experience golfing in Scotland.
