Just over 60 years ago, Lanzerac Esate, then owned by the Stellenbosch Farmers’ Winery cooperative, realised the potential of a uniquely South African grape which had hitherto been blended into dry red wines, but had never been bottled under its own name: Pinotage. In 1961, the first bottle of Pinotage was released to the market and thus a legend was born. It’s highly recommended that you try this distinct cultivar, which owes its success to the very estate you’re visiting.
Enjoy a tasting of 5 wines from the Lanzerac Premium Range, choosing from Pinotage Rosé, Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay, Syrah, Merlot, Pinotage, and Cabernet Sauvignon.
