Foz do Iguacu, Brazil

Prime location next to the magnificent Iguassu Falls

1136_cat_ext_sce_04The only resort within Iguassu National Park, Belmond Hotel das Cataratas overlooks the roaring falls – one of the New Seven Wonders of Nature. Cataratas has hosted the three P’s: pop stars, presidents and princesses. Why do they all flock here? Its unrivaled location just a short stroll from the sensational waterfalls is at the top of the list. The Belmond Hotel das Cataratas has an arresting Colonial-Portuguese style that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into the 19th century. Its 177 rooms and 16 suites, divided between three sections, aren’t huge, but the signature décor features a simple, unfussy style that’s warm and relaxing. And with all of the action centered outdoors, you probably won’t be puttering around your room much, anyway.
